Basic Cosmetology.
It is so important to start with the basics. The cosmetology field can be overwhelming for the beginning student. That is normal, we can help! We start with the basics, the basic forms, techniques, products,& procedures to get you ready for the salon clinic floor. The Basics help you so you can achieve greatness in the art of hairdressing.
Education is not limited to the textbook, students at P.M.C.A. will receive hands on training in a vast array of techniques relating to hair, nail, skincare, massage, cosmetic application as well as a wealth of business management education pertaining to salon procedures.
Owner and Master Instructor, Penny Miller, is there to guide you on your educational path, with assistance from various professionals from the beauty industry. We are all here to help our students achieve success!
Continuing education is important to your career path & We partner with several professional product companies to give our students the information needed to survive in the modern day salon. Organizations such as Farouk Systems, Image Skincare,Tammy Taylor, Behind the Chair, Jon Gonzales, AACS, OSBC, NAACS, SBA, REI, Design Forum, Pivot Point, Milady, Aquage and many more, bring alot to the educational experience for both the seasoned professional as well as the new student of cosmetology. Guest speakers are invited in to help to mentor the students on their individual career path. Each student has a different set of career goals, and here at P.M.C.A. we help our students explore their own path. We teach survival skills for the Beauty Industry.
Courses available at the Academy Include:
Basic Cosmetology - a 1500 hour course in hair, skincare, nail care and massage.
Esthetician - 600 hour course in skincare, aesthetics, cosmetic application & massage.
Nail Technology - 600 hour course in nail care, natural and artificial & massage
Review hours - for cosmetology professionals who need updated information.
Instructor Course - 500 - 1,000 hour course for those who have been behind the chair and are now ready to mentor others in the industry.
Admissions Requirements:
Students interested in attending classes must be at least 16 years of age, and provide the following: Completed school application, Picture I.D. , Social Security Card, Proof of education such as diploma, GED or high school transcript. Please call and schedule a meeting with Penny and she will help you on your new career path.
